Rodent Exclusion is the act of sealing all gaps from 1/4"-1/2" in diameter to prevent rodents from entering your home. Rooflines are sealed with 26 gauge formed sheet metal and screwed down every 16" with a sheet metal-wood screw. The screw has a rubber washer that prevents water from entering into the fascia board. Corners or roof hips, are usually open and these areas must be carefully sealed to prevent rodents from entering in these areas.
Sheet metal is bent to the pitch, or angle of the roof to ensure that shingles do not get buckled up. This could cause problems in the future if they do not lay down properly to the roof decking. Gutter spikes are cut out to make sure the metal fits properly. Although are work may not be seen, we take pride in our work and like to do a neat job.
After all work has been completed we will make sure all work debris has been cleaned up properly.
Once traps have been set, we will continue to monitor them until all rodent pests have been removed from your home. After no activity has occured for a period of a week, we will come back and remove the traps, or one way doors and seal those last areas where the excluder traps have been placed.

The only way to prevent rodents from returning for good is to seal your home, or exclude them from entering your home.
We find that most homes that are having rodent problems have bird feeders nearby, leave cat food outside, have numerous gaps either along their foundation or roof, overgrown areas, overhanging tree branches, have grass seed in garage area, or dog food unsecured.
Some homeowner's will hire a handyman to attempt to seal their home, however we have found this to be inadequate and best left to a professional rodent exclusion company.
Trapping alone is very short term, as rodents are continually leaving feces, urine, body secretions, and hair, and may spread diseases to humans or pets. For these reasons it is very important to seal your home.
Some customers just want a short term solution to their problem, and request trapping alone, because Rats are prolific breeders, having 6-8 young 4-6 times per year, and squirrels having two litters per year with an average litter of 4 young, things can get out of control very quickly.
Trapping does help, however the only real solution is to trap, seal, and cleanup.
Most rodents can be safely removed with snap traps or excluder devices during the rodent removal process. These devices are placed over rodent entry points, or other openings being utilized by them. The device allows the rodents to exit but not return. These are useful only when the house is sealed 99.9%, as squirrels and rats will chew around them to get back in.
Sealing your home in conjunction with trapping and removal is the best approach for the removal of rats and squirrels. Construction gaps, roof junctions, crawlspace vents, doors, gable vents, power vents, ridge vents, pipe conduits, dry vents, pvc drains, gaps in mortar or rock, trim board, and other areas are sealed with adhesives and metal.
The rodent exclusion task is tedious and should not be rushed and is better left to a professional wildlife and rodent exclusion company, as if one opening is left unsealed, your home is now compromised and your problem unsolved. The rodent removal process will then have to be re-initiated in order to trap out the rodents. This extra time can be avoided by properly selecting a reputable company that can provide references.
Atlanta Wildlife Solutions, will ensure that no gaps are left exposed, and that all potential rodent entry points will be sealed with care to prevent any uninvited guest from returning for good.
